Brinen & Associates specializes in serving the needs of small and micro cap companies, entrepreneurs, private companies and individuals. For many of our small business clients, we effectively serve as an outside general counsel: addressing the full spectrum of their legal issues, from securities law and taxation to commercial litigation. We strive to provide the same high level of legal expertise you’d expect to find at a large multinational law firm but without all the layers of staffing and excessive cost. We are committed to providing professional service with a personal touch.
When I graduated from law school, a respected friend and professor handed me a book, “The Betrayed Profession: Lawyering at the End of the Twentieth Century” by Sol Linowitz. It traced his journey from what today would be considered a small five-lawyer firm in Rochester, New York to his role in Coudert Brothers. I recommend that book to any person who wants to be a lawyer, and any person who is about to practice. With the lessons learned from that book, and with a bit of advice I received from my civil procedure professor – “The world doesn’t need more lawyers, it needs good lawyers.”
That is the basic idea on which I founded and strive to maintain our Firm. We are committed to delivering our Clients the highest quality work product bound by the highest ethical standards while providing the highest attorney availability in a professional environment and also while charging reasonable fees for the work product and availability.
We strive to uphold these old-fashioned values in today’s demanding business environment by using the latest technologies and most up to date methods of legal practice in order to meet the needs of our Clients.
