Ms. Madigan has also assisted in managing numerous Internal Revenue Service audits, providing support from initial examination through resolution. Through this work, Katie has developed strong technical skills in tax procedure, controversy, and compliance, as well as a practical understanding of how to navigate complex regulatory processes on behalf of clients.
Katie has a bachelor’s degree in economics, Politics and Law from Dublin City University, Ireland. During her time at Dublin City University, Katie was an active member of the Free Legal Advice Centre, where she acted as a Student Legal Advisor, issuing basic legal information and advice to persons in lower-income areas who could not afford private lawyers. Upon graduating, Katie passed all eight of the Law Society of Ireland’s FE-1 examinations.
Katie’s dual degree in economics and law provides Ms. Madigan with a strong understanding of economic theories, market dynamics, and financial systems – insights that are invaluable when dealing with tax planning and the creation of tax-advantaged structures for clients. This foundation enables her to analyze legal issues, make informed policy recommendations, and adeptly navigate the intricacies of corporate practice.
Prior to moving to New York City, Katie interned at Ireland’s largest corporate law firm, Matheson LLP, where she worked on both the Finance & Capital Markets and Corporate Litigation teams in the firm’s Dublin and London offices.
