Alannah Hughes joined Brinen & Associates, LLC in April 2025 as a Law Clerk, working primarily in commercial litigation and securities matters. Ms. Hughes assists attorneys in complex business disputes, including matters involving civil RICO claims, fraud, and breach of contract. Alannah’s work encompasses fact investigation, legal research, and drafting pleading, discovery responses, and memoranda addressing issues such as predicate acts, interstate commerce, and conspiracy under RICO. Ms. Hughes supports attorneys in developing litigation strategies and preparing filings across multiple stages of proceedings, from initial case assessment through dispositive motion practice.
During her time with Brinen & Associates LLC, Alannah has also gained experience across tax advisory matters and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. In the corporate department, Alannah has assisted with drafting company formation documents, contracts, contract schedules and research memorandums. In the tax department, Alannah assists with advising clients as to their regulatory obligations, substantive tax law research, and preparing Inland Revenue Service compliant documents. Alannah’s attention to detail and curious personality equip her to support attorneys in this detail-oriented work, to create long-term value for clients.
Alannah graduated with a degree in Law (LL. B) from Trinity College Dublin in 2024 summa cum laude. Alannah was active in university life, having served as the secretary of the Trinity College Dublin Food & Drink Society. In 2024, Alannah completed an internship in Matheson, LLP, Ireland’s largest law firm, in the commercial real estate department. In this role, Alannah assisted attorneys with drafting real estate contracts and the organization of transaction documents as well as participating in client presentations. Following university, Alannah completed and passed the Law Society of Ireland FE-1 entrance examinations. Alannah moved to New York City from Dublin in April 2025, where she joined the firm.
Outside of work, Alannah enjoys travelling, having visited various countries in Central and South America. Alannah also spent a summer living and working in Boston in 2023.
